'Amr b. Shu'aib, on his father's authority, said his grandfather told that Godโs messenger was asked about the โaqiqa and replied, โGod does not like the breaking of ties (โuquq),โ as though he disliked the name. And he said, โIf anyone has a child born to him and wishes to offer a sacrifice on its behalf, he may offer two sheep for a boy and one for a girl. Abu Dawud and Nasaโi transmitted it.
